A few months ago, I started taking pictures of myself in public reflective surfaces as a commentary on how often we run into images of ourselves while going about our business throughout the day.
This picture was taken at the DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse store in the Sherman Oaks Galleria in Sherman Oaks, California while killing time before going to see a movie at the Arclight. (I don’t remember which movie now.) For these self-portraits, I try to snap them as quickly as possible so other people don’t get in the way. However, although this looks like a simple shot, it took awhile to align it just right since the angle and position of the mirror was a difficult one to catch myself in. Luckily, there weren’t many other customers around.
Also, this isn’t the first self-portrait I took, but it was the most popular one of the series so far when I originally posted it on Facebook, so I made it the first one here on the blog.
